CrossFit Kids is a method for teaching Greg Glassman’s CrossFit to children ages 3-18. Based on the principle of Mechanics, Consistency and then Intensity, CrossFit Kids emphasizes good movement throughout childhood and adolescence. Consistently good mechanics translates to physical literacy, enhanced sports performance and fewer sports injuries for kids. Not only that, a vast body of research indicates that exercise is beneficial to cognitive function, which means consistent adherence to the program can have a positive impact on children’s academic achievement.

CrossFit Kids is meant to be BIG FUN for all ages. Broad-Inclusive-General fun. Fun means we provide an active alternative to sedentary pursuits, which means less childhood obesity and all-around better health for our children. Further, the needs of second graders and high-school varsity wrestlers differ by degree and not kind; the program is scalable for any age or experience level and accounts for the varied maturation status one can find in a class full of kids.

Resistance training for children and adolescents is a subject of contention for many but the benefits of following a SAFE resistance training program for kids are many;

CrossFit Kids Trainers focus on reinforcing sound mechanics, educating proper behaviours, providing opportunities for success and long-term adherence. Safety during any physical activity is of utmost importance considering the adolescent skeleton is actively growing. The CrossFit Kids program strives to prevent injuries due to accidents by actively honing skills such as accepting personal responsibility, working safely with others, following rules, and exhibiting etiquette...While children and adolescents within the CrossFit Kids program may lift, move, and play with various objects during the course of a class, when they perform the movements from the foundational series (squats, presses, and deadlifts) the mechanics of and consistency with the movement informs the load - Courtesy of CrossFit Inc.


The CrossFit Hayle Kid's Program will start in September 2018 running alongside school term times and we will provide Kid's camps during the main school holidays (Summer, Christmas and Easter). There will be 4 different classes within the program which are generalised by age;

Preschoolers (3-5 years old)

Kids (6-9 years old)

Pre Teens (10-12 years old)

Teens (13-17 years old)

*Although these classes are set out by age, it is NOT the age of your child that is the deciding factor for what class your child will attend. It is largely based on individual skill, athleticism, and maturity and is ultimately decided by the head coach to ensure your child is getting the most out of the CrossFit experience.*


The CrossFit Kids program is aimed to help children and adolescents to continually progress and to ensure this happens safely and effectively we require continuity within their training, therefore the program will run in 7-week blocks. These blocks will run through school terms and will enable school holiday camps to take place during the 3 main holidays each year. All children will have a week free to try out the sessions before payment is required.

The pricing structure is as follows below. Due to the different sessions running for different amounts of time the payment increases in line with ages, as discussed before, the classes are initially sorted by age but once we have started and we get to know each child, we may require them to change to a different class level, this is fully decided by the coach. All prices below are for the full 7-week block;

Preschool - £25 (one session per week) and £45 (two sessions per week)

Kids - £30 (one session per week) and £55 (two sessions per week)

Pre-Teens - £35 (one session per week) and £65 (two sessions per week)

Teens - £40 (one session per week) and £75 (two sessions per week)


We are aware that many families have more than one child who would like to partake in CrossFit Kids, so we have put together sibling discount. The oldest child will be charged full price for their class and any younger siblings will have £5 off any 1 per week block or £10 off any 2 per week block.

All payments must be made in advance of the term time starting. Priority will be given to those currently in a block during the penultimate week of that block to rebook onto the next block, if you have not confirmed you place for the following block by the end of that week, the waiting list will be contacted to take any new spaces.


All children will be invited to partake in a free week trial of our Kid’s classes so that they have been able to experience the classes for themselves to ensure they would like to get started as a CrossFit Kid! Preschool (3-5) Friday 16:00 - 16:30 and Sunday 12:15-12:45

Kids (6-9) Monday 16:00 - 16:45 and Saturday 12:00 - 12:45

Pre-Teens (10-12) Monday 17:00 - 17:45 and Saturday 13:00 - 13:45

Teens (13-18) Friday 16:45 - 17:45 and Sunday 11:00 - 12:00
