Here at CrossFit Hayle we strive to provide a universally scalable Strength and Conditioning program that allows people of all abilities to train together no matter their level of 'fitness'; whether you are a seasoned athlete looking to compete at an elite level or a grandparent looking to remain mobile, our core programming is accessible and doable for absolutely everyone!

As all our training is done in a group environment, our members find they push themselves harder and are able to achieve much more than they thought possible! Each individual will perform at an intensity that fits their own fitness level so if you have no sporting background, have never set foot in a gym and have poor fitness, it DOES NOT MATTER! CrossFit it scalable too ALL abilities and you will build fitness and strength at a pace that suits you!

  • Ted Mulhearn
    Ted is one of our co-owners, originally from Liverpool, you can't miss his Scouse accent! After years in the hospitality business he found his love for CrossFit and pursed a career in coaching. It has gone from strength to strength ever since and after moving to Cornwall made the dream come true by opening CrossFit Hayle with partner Kayley. The CrossFit journey continues for Ted after recently returning as part of the Judging Team for the Meridian Regionals in Madrid!

    Ted's qualifications are as follows;

  • Kayley Elms
    Kayley is the other co-owner at CrossFit Hayle, originally coming from a background in Dance, there's been lots of twists and turns in the journey. After completing a BSc Hons in Business Management and Accounting in London, Kayley pursued her career in Accounting, began studying the AAT and gaining experience in an accounting firm. After the birth of her first child, CrossFit was her way to shed the baby weight and it became an addiction! Eventually she completed her CrossFit Level 1 course and her coaching career started! Finally, CrossFit Hayle was created and the journey continues with balancing CrossFit and family life.

    Kayley's qualifications are as follows;

    BSc (Hons) Business Management and Accounting - First classification
    CrossFit L1 Trainer
    CrossFit Kids
    British Weightlifting Level 2 Coach

  • Mel Garside
    After studying her degree, Mel moved to Cornwall and has worked as a Paramedic since. Mel has always been active, she loved trying new things and being outside but never found her true sport. When she started working shifts she wanted to find a new hobby that would not only keep her active, but also have a social side to it. It was then that her love for CrossFit was found and she's never looked back! Mel has a passion for helping people and a will to improve their wellbeing and so she decided to pursue a career in coaching. Mel has been a valued member of the team from the beginning at CrossFit Hayle. We're not sure how she fits it all in but she is also completing her MSc in Human Nutrition and aims to register as an Associate Nutritionist this year (2018). She brings a fresh aspect to the box, not only does she coach the members, but she delivers quarterly nutrition challenges to the box which focus on fuelling our bodies for performance rather than the 'constant need to diet and lose weight'.

    Mel's qualifications are as follows;

    HCPC registered Paramedic
    CF Level 1 Trainer

    Currently studying MSc Human Nutrition
